PEOPLE
The Lucid team includes a tight knit core and an expandable outer. In simple terms we're flexible and can add to our permanent team, depending on client requirements. Quick turnaround is a Lucid guarantee and we have the right people on staff and on call to make sure that’s delivered every time.
Originally an ad man, Andrew conceived Lucid as a design consultancy, rather than simply a studio. He’s passionate about delivering the right solution for a client’s marketing campaign and provides the added value strategic thinking that’s often missing from design studios. Andrew’s generally the one who’ll take your brief, interrogate and question it and then manage the process of delivering the goods. In his spare time you will find him at Gymbox knocking nine bells out of a punch bag or sampling Martinis in a Soho dive.
Simon helps Lucid find new opportunities. He's got a vigorous handshake and a great nose for an interesting brief. His career in marketing started at the age of 12 with a sandwich board and a flea market to promote. Since then he's travelled the Western world selling risk management software, consulting services, circus skills workshops and fine wine. In his spare time he dreams of playing on the left wing for his beloved Portsmouth FC, obsesses about rare jazz records and owns a hairless dog called Alfie.
It was the Summer of Love 1989, sunrise warehouse parties were the hot ticket and Craig headed south from Birmingham City University to find out if the London streets really were paved with gold. Sadly they weren’t, but he did find the start of a career in graphic design that over the past 20 years has seen him gain extensive knowledge and experience in branding, print, advertising, web and illustration. Craig heads up the Lucid creative line-up, offering direction and guidance to the much younger, much trendier members of the team. Outside of work Craig has no interests to speak of as he has recently become a father, but he used to quite like music, film, architecture and travel.
It was more than a few years after Craig that Liz completed her Graphic Design degree at the University for the Creative Arts in Epsom, one of the UK’s leading providers of specialist art and design education. While there she saw her work published in magazines such as Creative Review and Computer Arts, before joining a print based design company and working on publications including the Evening Standard and Take a Break magazine. Outside of work, her passion for vintage and retro design finds her trawling antique markets at the weekends, when she’s not doing yoga, painting canvases and going to gigs.
"I travelled half way around the world for this job," says Andrew, Lucid's resident Australian and web guru. With a range of experience in software and hardware development, Andrew is rather handy to have around. His passion for website development and coding means he's already way ahead of the curve and will use all the latest techniques to create and build your site. Away from his computer he likes playing football, taking things apart, and seeing as much of this part of the world as he can. He dislikes rainy weather, badly designed websites and the taste of defeat.
Emily began sketching before she could walk or talk, much to her parents delight and often dismay as yet another wall had to be repainted. A master of many different illustrative styles Emily adds the lost art of hand illustration and painting to Lucid's core strengths. Her digital skills are also well honed, using Photoshop and Illustrator to the maximum of their limits. When she is not creating imagery for Lucid's clients Emily can be found painting, to relax!
